Using Twitter for Business - Tips

Here are some tips to keep in mind when your using Twitter for Business:

1. Choose your username carefully - a username that represents your brand or product is a wise move.  Other users and potential clients will be able to identify you and be more inclined to follow you.

2. Make sure you have a link to your blog or homepage on your profile page.  If you’re following the guidelines for getting targeted users then you’ll want to check out as much information about the user before you follow them and they will most likely do the same with you.

3. Update your background from the default Twitter backgrounds and create something more appealing.  A photo of you, your brand or logo is always eye catching.

4. Promote interesting content.  Remember, you don’t want people to un-follow you because they are tired of irrelevant tweets.  Stick to your message and keep it consistent across all your social networking entities.

5.  Don’t become a spammer or you may be Twitter Slapped.  Twitter is cracking down on abuse of their system.  Adhere to the Twitter policies to prevent your account from being banned or suspended.  Check out the Twitter policies here.
